We only have so much time to widen our profile and talk to new companies. The idea of a little help from technology was intriguing, to say the least.
The set-up was painless. A questionnaire to complete. A bit of thought about my target audience, my competitors and twitter accounts that I admire in my sector.
So far so good.
Within a day of going live on @CantaloupeUK, followers were starting to roll in. Not all of them a perfect match, but the majority sitting within my industry, local area or prospective market.
Phase one was Collate Systems identifying a relevant audience and building followers. Each new follower received a friendly welcome note “from me”. And this prompted friendly replies! From there, I took up the conversations.
I found myself chatting with other copywriters and having initial discussions with companies I’d never spoken to before. I started to see the power of Collate Systems.
Perfecting the target audience
The biggest challenge on Twitter is reaching the right people.
I wanted to reach more businesses that might find my services of interest.
Liaising with Collate Systems, we tweaked the campaign parameters. A few changes in the background and the follower profile evolved.
Phase two. They started to like posts and retweet relevant content on Cantaloupe’s behalf.
Phase three. Collate started to create content on my behalf. Now, this bit has been a bit scary, but in general, it’s worked.
I was comfortable it fitted my profile. Plus, it was getting likes and shares.
Still space for a Canteloupe
In amongst so much activity, I’ve still been able to add a human touch when time allows. My own messages. My own posts. My own likes. Collate just takes the strain for me. They’re there when I’m too busy to find time for Twitter. Even though I appreciate its importance.
I’m sure there’s some more surprise and delight to experience! And I get it now.
Collate Systems are the marketing team I’ve never had.
Working in the background whilst I run my business.
I’m certainly planning a few conversations about Collate Systems with my clients, armed with practical experience of how it adds value to social media activities, day in day out.
